Vosges Challenge 2023

Vosges Challenge 2023

Published on Wednesday 26th April 2023

We hope that you will join us for a great 3 days of cycling, camraderie and charitable fundrasing.

This year's Challenge is for teams of 4 to ride in relay over 3 days from Ostende to Belfort, totalling just over 550 miles!

Teams will make their own way across the Channel by ferry or tunnel and will head to the centre of Ostende, in Belgium on the evening of Wednesday 27th September.  Dinner will be provided for all teams, up until 8pm so that you can fuel yourself, ready for the ride ahead!

Wednesday 27th September: Ostende

Arrange your own Channel crossing to arrive in Ostende before 20h00, where dinner will be served on the eve of the Vosges Challenge. The hotel has a gym and swimming pool to help prepare you for the challenge ahead.

Thursday 28th September: Ostende to Houfalize

Drive 30 miles to the start of the Challenge and soon feel the cobbles as you ride the iconic Oude de Kwaremont followed by the Muur van Geraardsbergen! Our hotel in Houffalize again has a pool and gym for you to enjoy and we will dine together in their buffet restaurant.

Friday 29th September: Houffalize to Strasbourg

After an early start, you will ride into Luxembourg and appreciate great countryside and excellent road surfaces, before heading into North East France to Les Trois Forets Center Parks for the night (don’t tell the kids!). You will have full access to all of the facilities, so make the most of them!

Saturday 30th September

Soon after leaving Center Parks you will enter the wonderful Vosges mountains to enjoy spectacular scenery and some iconic cycling. The finish will be at the top of La Planche des Belles Filles before we drive into Belfort for our final dinner together.

Sunday 1st October

The drive back to Calais for your chosen Channel crossing is approximately 7 hours.

Sponsorship

  • Teams must raise a minimum of £1,500 sponsorship for their efforts from family, friends and business contacts.

  • 50% of each team’s sponsorship can be donated to a charity of the team’s choice, with 25% going to both Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

  • 100% of sponsorship raised by teams will be donated to charity, as your entry fee fully covers all costs so there is no dilution.

  • The cost of living crisis means that charities need our support more than ever and every penny raised from this challenge will go to charity.   Let's make a real difference to those in need in 2023!
